Budget- Friendly Date Spot on the mainland
Are you looking for a budget-friendly date spot or where to find cheap eats in Ikeja? This post is for you. With the current economy, it can be challenging to find affordable and decent meals but we’re always on the lookout. We recently discovered a hidden gem at Ikeja called Bakersfield Pastries and Bakes and we’re always excited to share our experience with you.
This restaurant is small and cosy, yet it offers the perfect ambience for a casual solo date or even with friends. Bakersfield Pastries and Bakes could also fit as a work space. It’s an under 5k spot, and their menu features a range of light bites like sandwiches, shawarma,pizzas, etc.
We had a budget of N5,000 per person and we were able to get a decent meal for breakfast. However, if you’re looking for more options or want to splurge a bit, you can adjust your budget accordingly.
Here’s what we had for three people:
- Sandwich and fries: N4,000
- Iced Latte: N2,000
- Chicken Sandwich: N2,000
- Cold Chocolate: N3,000
- Chicken Shawarma: N3,000
- Chi Exotic: N2,000
- Strawberry Milkshake: N3,500 (an extra drink outside of our budget, but totally worth it!)
The chicken sandwich was filling and had enough chicken, earning an 8.5/10 from us. The chicken shawarma was a 7/10, but good value for money. And the strawberry milkshake? A definite 10/10!

For a budget of N5,000 per person, you can enjoy a decent meal and drink. We were impressed with the quality of their food and drinks, especially the strawberry milkshake., which was the highlight of our visit.
Overall, we had a decent breakfast experience at Bakersfield Pastries and Bakes, and their menu is budget-friendly.
