Ofada Heaven/Sankofa Lounge; Restaurant Review
Restaurants are making waves on the mainland, and we’re here for it. Ofada Heaven/Sankofa Lounge is an affordable restaurant in Surulere that you sure need to check out, especially if you’re an Ofada Lover.
They are both in the same spot, located in Surulere, Lagos Mainland. It’s a beautiful space, but it would have looked better if they infused more local aesthetics, as they mostly sell native delicacies.
We specifically went to Ofada Heaven because we wanted to give their Ofada rice a try, so let’s talk about it. They sell various kinds of Ofada; we tried out their
- Seafood Ofada: This particular meal was a good deal; it had a well-sized snail, enough shrimp, and a satisfying portion of rice and plantains. The seafood Ofada sauce tasted like Ofada but more like a ‘janded’ version, and it didn’t have the local taste.
- Regular Ofada: This was a decent meal and was served with Ofada sauce, assorted meal, kpomo, egg, and plantains.
Both meals tasted decent, but for Ofada heaven, we wanted a bit more.
To keep our dining experience budget-friendly, we opted for fruit juice. However, if you’re in the mood for something fancier, they have cocktails and other drinks on their menu.
Customer service was great, and the staff who attended to us was patient and attentive.
