Kulture Yard: Themed Restaurant in Ikeja

Gospel-Themed Restaurant in Lagos

We found a unique restaurant on the mainland that is one of its kind in Lagos. Kulture Yard is a gospel-themed restaurant in Ikeja, owned by a popular Nigerian gospel musician.

Kulture Yard is situated in a serene environment in Ikeja, It has a welcoming ambience infused with art works and write-ups relating to the scriptures in the Bible. The restaurant has a rustic aesthetic, and it’s more of an outdoor space, but there’s provision for an indoor dining area at their VIP Lounge. It is also a family-friendly spot, as there is a playground for kids.

We heard a lot about the meals at Kulture Yard, and we thought we should have our own share. We tried out their;

  • Egusi Soup and Poundo: The egusi tasted more like an Igbo woman’s egusi; we had it with croaker fish. It’s important to note that the soup doesn’t include protein, so you’ll need to order your preferred protein separately from their menu.
  • Fisherman Soup and Poundo: We tried a different kind of fisherman soup at Kulture Yard, and we’re glad to know that there are other ways fisherman soups are made. We enjoyed this version of the Fisherman soup, and it was quite affordable too.
  • Seafood Coconut Rice: There’s a lowkey battle between Coconut rice and jollof rice, and to be honest, they are both nice and suit different occasions. But this particular coconut stole the show on this day, it tasted so good, and we highly recommend it.

For Drinks, we had a jug of chilled palm wine, just the right way to step down our food.
