Where to Get Ofada Rice in Gbagada
We explored Gbagada recently and discovered what might just be one of the most underrated food spots on the mainland. Located on Diya Street, Komije is a simple, cozy place that serves Ofada Rice at budget-friendly prices. It’s a great pick if you’re looking for standard Ofada rice spot on the mainland without spending too much.
Komije is a small but artsy space. It has a casual setup that gives off premium fast food vibes while still feeling authentic and homey. The interior features creative local decor that makes it perfect for low-key dates, quick lunch breaks, or chilled solo hangouts.

Meals We Had
We went straight for what Komije is known for, their Ofada rice. And honestly, they did not disappoint.
- Ofada Rice and Ayamase Sauce: The rice was well-cooked, slightly smoky (which we love), and the sauce had a rich, peppery flavor with just the right level of heat. It came with assorted meat, and everything was properly seasoned.
- Fried Plantain: They had run out of plantain initially but offered to fry a fresh batch for us, which we really appreciated. It came hot and soft, just how we like it.
- Guinea Fowl: We paired our Ofada Rice with Guinea Fowl; the Guinea fowl came in fresh and delicious. We enjoyed the combo
For Drinks we had
- Chilled Palm Wine: To wash it all down, we had cold palm wine. Super refreshing and definitely gave that local enjoyment feel.

We really enjoyed our visit to Komije. The food was tasty, the portions were fair, and the service was top-notch. The vibe of the space is cozy and welcoming, and everything feels made with care. While we won’t officially crown them as the best Ofada in Lagos, they’re definitely in the conversation.
If you’re looking for an affordable Ofada rice spot on the mainland or simply want to explore more local food spots in Lagos, Komije should be on your radar.
